Five weeks. Five industry-recognized certifications. One powerful first step.
Today, we celebrate more than the completion of a five-week program. We celebrate a group of graduates who invested in their futures and took an important first step toward rewarding careers in commercial construction.
Throughout the program, participants earned wages while developing practical skills, completing certifications, visiting jobsites and facilities, and learning directly from construction professionals. Their achievement reflects both their determination and the strength of a community committed to developing New Mexico’s workforce.
IT TOOK A COMMUNITY
This program was made possible through the generosity, expertise, and commitment of many partners.
First, we extend our sincere appreciation to the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions. Its investment in workforce development made it possible for participants to earn a wage while gaining valuable skills, certifications, and industry exposure.
Thank you to our contractors, industry partners, and participating companies for sponsoring transportation, opening their jobsites and facilities, and showing participants what careers in construction truly look like. These hands-on experiences were invaluable.
We are also grateful to the subject matter experts and volunteers who shared their knowledge, time, and passion for the industry. Their involvement helped students discover the many career opportunities available in commercial construction.
A special thank-you goes to Leon for stepping into the instructor role and guiding this cohort throughout its journey. His leadership, encouragement, and commitment made a meaningful impact.
