Celebrating Excellence at Our Recognition Breakfast
There’s something special about starting the day by celebrating the people who make a difference, and that’s exactly what we did at our recent Recognition Breakfast on March 11th, 2026.
Friends, colleagues, and community members came together over breafast and conversation to recognize a group of incredible individuals whose dedication and impact continue to move our work forward. The room was filled with energy, gratitude, and a shared sense of pride.
This year’s honorees included:

Connor Toci with Franks Supply Company was unable to join us, but he was still recognized for his unwavering support of AGC New Mexico. He consistently stepped up to support our events, championed our mission, and brought a positive, generous spirit to everything he did. We are grateful for his ongoing contributions.

Leon Jones with City Wide Construction, honored for his role as CLC Philanthropy Director in 2025 and still continues his service to AGC New Mexico as a past board member. He consistently volunteered, supported events, and showed up for the industry. Under his leadership, the Trifecta Fundraiser delivered strong results that benefited local nonprofits while also expanding volunteer engagement and community connections. His commitment to service reflected the very best of AGC New Mexico.

Bella Kricensky with our AGC Student Chapter, celebrated for serving as Interim President of the UNM AGC Student Chapter, demonstrating strong leadership, initiative, and professionalism. She kept the chapter active through meetings, competition prep, and participation in key AGC events, while strengthening connections between students and the industry. Her reliability and positive attitude made her truly deserving of this recognition.
- Travis Porter with Summit Construction, acknowledged for exemplifying purposeful leadership and commitment. After serving as Co-Chair, he stepped into the role of CLC Chair with energy, focus, and a clear vision, elevating the program and strengthening leadership development. His dedication and impact made him a standout, and we proudly recognized him as Committee Chair of the Year.

Sam Hatchell with Jaynes Corporation, recognized for his significant impact on AGC New Mexico by strengthening organizational culture and leadership development. He invested his time and expertise to improve communication, accountability, and collaboration, fostering greater trust and alignment within the team. His work left a lasting impression and reinforced the importance of culture as a foundation for success.

Sara Petersen with Sweep Construction, honored for her strong advocacy for apprenticeship, workforce development, and hands-on training. She and her company went beyond words by investing time, expertise, and labor to refresh AGC’s apprenticeship training space, demonstrating a clear commitment to the next generation. Her efforts exemplified true industry leadership and support.

Todd Sanchez with Builders Trust of New Mexico, celebrated for his driving force in advancing safety at AGC New Mexico. Through strong leadership, he expanded participation in the CHASE Cooperative OSHA Partnership Program, elevated safety awareness, and ensured New Mexico was represented at the national level. His efforts strengthened jobsite culture and reinforced safety as a core responsibility.

Martin Romero with the Construction Industries Division, was recognized for consistently demonstrating that strong regulation and a thriving construction industry can work together. Through clear communication and transparency, he kept AGC members informed and engaged, helping build trust and allowing contractors to plan and adapt effectively. His leadership highlighted the value of collaboration between agencies and industry.

honored for their roles in leadership that guided AGC New Mexico through the transition of winding down the NM Contractors Comp Trust and merging with Builders Trust. They navigated a complex process with responsibility and integrity, protecting legacy claims, ensuring contractor stability, and delivering a transparent, disciplined transition that set a strong path forward across the state.
We recognized one final volunteer, Brent Franken, with Franken Construction Company. Brent's presidency was marked by steady leadership, clarity, and a strong commitment to unity across the industry. He led through regulatory challenges and major transitions with a practical, results-driven approach, leaving AGC New Mexico stronger and well-positioned for the future.
More than anything, the breakfast was a chance to pause and say thank you. Recognizing the hard work, the passion, and the impact these individuals bring every day to our industry. It also gave us a moment to reconnect and look ahead with excitement for what’s next.
