AGC New Mexico Announces Workers’ Compensation Merger
On September 3, 2025, the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration (WCA) approved the merger of the New Mexico Contractors Comp Trust (NMCCT) with the Builders Trust of New Mexico (Builders Trust). This merger, effective October 1, 2025, unites two long-standing funds to strengthen workers’ compensation coverage and advance safety for New Mexico’s construction industry.
Under the merger, Builders Trust will serve as the surviving fund, with its board and staff managing the consolidation of operations. AGC New Mexico will be the named trade association affiliated with Builders Trust, fulfilling the WCA statutory requirement.
Preserving Access
-
AGC’s reciprocal agreements with other trade associations will remain in place and expand, ensuring continued access to coverage while providing flexibility in trade association membership.
“This merger represents a significant step forward for New Mexico’s contractors,” said Kelly Roepke-Orth, CEO of AGC New Mexico. “By consolidating resources and joining in partnership with Builders Trust, we can deliver greater stability and clarity to members while preserving access through reciprocal agreements. Most importantly, this merger enhances our shared capacity to invest in safety excellence and provide the protections that keep our workforce strong.”
