AGC New Mexico – Press Statement for SAEF2 Grant Announcement
On behalf of AGC New Mexico (AGC NM) and the New Mexico Building Education Foundation (NMBEF), we are honored to be selected as a recipient of the SAEF2 grant to develop and launch the AGC New Mexico Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
This initiative is designed to create a unified, high-quality pre-apprenticeship pathway that connects individuals—including those from underserved and underrepresented populations—with career opportunities in the construction industry. With this funding, we will build the program’s infrastructure, including curriculum development, industry-aligned recruitment strategies, and partnerships with both union and non-union registered apprenticeship programs.
Our pre-apprenticeship program will prepare participants for in-demand careers in traditional construction trades and emerging sectors like clean energy and broadband infrastructure. By the end of 2025, we will have developed a comprehensive program ready to serve individuals annually, creating new pathways to economic opportunity and long-term career success in New Mexico’s construction sector.
We are excited to collaborate with the Department of Workforce Solutions and fellow contractors to expand workforce development opportunities across the state.
