Women of the Construction Industry: Event Recap & Photos

Celebrating Strength, Innovation, and Progress

The Seventh Annual Women of the Construction Industry Event was a resounding success! This year, we gathered to celebrate the achievements of women in construction, foster connections, and inspire the next generation of industry leaders.

Event Highlights

  • Keynote Speaker: Barb Allen, founder of 14%ers, shared her powerful journey from carpenter to Operations Director, highlighting the importance of recognizing and overcoming gender-specific challenges in the industry. Barb also led an impactful Breaking Barriers workshop, offering valuable insights on expanding opportunities for women in construction.
  • Recognition & Advocacy: A special proclamation from Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham officially designated March 2nd-8th as Women in Construction Week, reinforcing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the industry.
  • Giving Back: Pursonalities Plus ABQ collected and distributed thousands of filled purses to needy women, supporting those overcoming domestic violence, homelessness, and other challenges.
