Defining a legacy and impacting the industry
For the past 75 years, AGC NM has been the voice of the construction industry in New Mexico. Since 1948, we have been committed to evolving with the industry. This means we meet the industry’s challenges with you, while providing member-driven solutions. From amending materials taxation laws in 1954 to navigating a global pandemic in 2020, our experience is just one of the reasons AGC NM is the trusted professional source of the construction industry.
Throughout the decades AGC NM has made a difference in the industry and the community through engagement and impact. 2023 was no exception; we piloted the state’s first youth Pre-apprenticeship program, facilitated the first Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Summit, and made a direct impact on over 1,500 individuals through our workforce development initiatives and educational partnerships.
It was that engagement that reinforced the need to address the most pressing issues facing our industry, retaining and recruiting a skilled workforce. For the second year, AGC and our association partners coordinated a Construction Career Expo and Contractors Expo that reached over 400 individuals and 80 employers. The Contractors Expo educated employers on pertinent topics for the industry, including economic development, public education, and foreseeable projects from an owner’s perspective.
Member engagement has validated AGC NM as the trusted professional source that delivers a unified voice with local Legislators and contracting agencies, and we flew to DC to meet with Congressional delegates – the goal, to share how various legislation impacts your business and the people who work for you.
It has been a privilege to celebrate 75 years of AGC NM serving the construction industry and we look forward to prosperous years ahead. I have been humbled by our members’ energy, enthusiasm, and engagement. Thank you for your support.
