NMED Construction Stormwater Training

NMED will be providing training on the EPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Construction General Permit (CGP) requirements to provide a refresher to the construction community. The target audience for these presentations will be the owners and/or operators responsible for obtaining permit coverage, so likely attendees would be the signatory authorities and environmental staff for companies covered under the CGP.

Material presented will focus on the eligibility requirements for permit coverage (including Endangered Species Act and National Historic Preservation Act requirements) and a high level overview of the permit and its requirements, including information on SWPPPs (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans), water quality information, inspection requirements, corrective action requirements, stabilization measures, and an overview of what NMED and EPA look for during compliance evaluation inspections.

Training will be offered on the following dates, times and locations:
  • March 14, Harold Runnels building auditorium (1190 S. St. Francis Dr., Santa Fe), 9am to 4pm with a lunch break – 180 spots available

  • March 21, Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, Roadrunner Room (200 Picacho Blvd., Las Cruces), 9am to 4pm with a lunch break – 100 spots available
