Education Committee Charter

AGC Education Committee description – The topics addressed by this committee pertain most directly to the education and lifelong learning needs of construction professionals working for General Contractor, Specialty Contractor and Affiliate (Service/Supplier) member firms.  The committee determines AGC’s Education Calendar for the year and offers guidance and feedback for construction-related programs in colleges and universities in New Mexico.

      • Builders (General Contractors and Specialty Contractors)
      • Suppliers
      • Secondary and Post-secondary Education Institutions
    • Non-AGC members and their employees
      • Builders (General Contractors and Specialty Contractors)

      • Secondary and post-secondary Education Institutions
    • Commercial construction consumers
      • Public building owners
      • Private owners and developers
    •   Students pursuing post-secondary programs
    •   Design professionals
  • Final deliverables:
    • Identify and publish career development opportunities already available.
    • Identify standard competencies required for each level of supervisor/management:
      • Foremen
      • Superintendents (all gradients)
      • Project Engineers
      • Project Managers
      • Estimators
      • Construction Company Owners
    • Use competencies to identify the gaps in Item 1.
    • Market all programs by including the overall benefits of training.
