Construction Coach Position Available at ACE Leadership High SchoolACE Leadership High School – opening July 2010 – will feature an Applied Construction program that will be taught in the Freshman and Sophomore years at the school. An instructional design will teach the Core Curriculum for Introductory Craft Skills in the Math, Science, and Humanities classes instead of through an elective program. In order to teach this Core Curriculum in all of our classes, we will employ a construction expert on staff as a “Coach” to assist teachers in designing construction applications. The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core Curriculum will be broken down into individual components and these pieces will be taught in all classes. Assessments will be administered through the standard NCCER approach as well as through new assessments created by the school. Mastery in each of the eight subject areas (Safety, Construction Math, Power Tools, etc.) will be assessed throughout the student’s experience at the school leading to a final Gateway exhibition at the end of the Sophomore year.
