About the New Mexico Building Branch, AGC

The New Mexico Building Branch of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, established in 1948, seeks to solve problems faced collectively by members and enhance professional standards of the commercial construction profession.

The AGC develops programs designed to improve the well being of the construction profession in New Mexico, the communities in which they operate and the profitability of member companies.

AGC has the member strength and industry experience to deal with critical issues including: changing government regulations, an increasingly unpredictable court system, safety, environmental, and certain legal issues. We have the best contract documents and information on productivity improvements available in the profession.

AGC is a powerful voice in state and national politics, drafting, amending or stopping legislation that could adversely affect the profession. In addition we have a pro-active legislative agenda to make positive changes in the construction industry.

AGC certifies craft training programs statewide, offers training for field supervisory personnel and management training for office personnel. AGC safety programs are recognized by state OSHA officials as “the best” in the profession. AGC members’ outstanding safety records speak for themselves.

Membership

A major strength of AGC is the networking among our diverse membership. AGC is made up of qualified open shop and union commercial building general contractors; specialty contractors; and suppliers of materials, equipment or services to the construction profession. Our membership builds more than 60% of all non-residential public and private building construction each year in New Mexico.
